Affirmative Nikita above. I got the same problem. The suggestion to go to Preference DOESN’T WORK because Words (2010) simply hung up and I have to “Force Quit” it. This is awfully annoying. I will find solution tomorrow or I will quit this contraption and move back to my PC.
My dear friends,
All what is published here does not really solve the problem, In all the solutions published online people who want to help write “Go to Preferences” and etc.
People, this is the thing which you don’t understand – you cannot go to Preferences menu or any other menu in Word! Personally I cannot do that. The only thing I can do is to Force quit by pressing ESC+COMMAND+OPTION
So please when you offer solution – offer a complete one. Thanks.
We have just installed Word 2011 on our Mac but cannot type anything at all- the characters simply do not appear on screen. Help!
thanks a lot
Thanks for the tip, Rob. Fixed it for me.
Microsoft said in their form tat this problem will be fix in the coming Service Pack.
How do we actually fix it? The above, really, isnt a solution, its just brushing the problem under the rug.
How many of us do really write correct spelling all the time?
Select all the text in your doc. Go to Tools/Language. Choose the right language, like English(US), and make sure the Do not check spelling or grammar check-box is NOT selected.
