Mac not able to open password protected zip file by default Archive Utility. If the zip file is password protected, you need third party tools to open the zip file.
To open password protected zip in Mac OS X, follow the steps below:-

- Download zipeg from here
- Double click the file and drag the little sheep to your “Application” folder”
- Double click zipeg and start the program
- Now drag your password protected to zipeg and it will prompt you for your password
- Once you enter the correct password, you will be able to access your files. or click on Extract button to extract it.
* Zipeg is a freeware

open your console… it is easy
Just do it in Terminal. Surprised you say how to zip in terminal but not unzip.
Launch Terminal
unzip yourfile.zip
enter password
done.
Or you can do on the terminal line:
> unzip myzipfile.zip
and it will prompt you for the password
you need to purchase a licence for betterzip. it only good for 30 days trial.
Betterzip can open all password protected archives (of course, if you know the password)
